Daniele Baldelli at Plastic People

Last Sunday I went with a bunch of Lucky Clouder Sound System dancers
(Jeremy, Simon, Emma, Guillaume, Emma, Sharon, Alex, Cedric, Cyrile,
Fabien…), plus my new friend Matthew Ingram (the blogging Woebot), to hear Daniele Baldelli, the legendary DJ from Baia
degli Angeli and Cosmic in Italy, make his UK debut at Plastic People.
I almost missed it altogether. The idea was to head down around eleven
and stay until two, but when I checked the PP site at eight-p.m. to
find out when Baldelli was going to play I discovered it was going to
end the bewitching hour. I flipped Carlotta into bed like a frankfurter
into a roll, wolfed down supper with Enrica (sausages from our local
Italian deli Torroni with potato puree ⎯ perfect prep for a long night
of dancing…) and scooted down to the club. I was on the floor by nine,
just as the curtain was being drawn back.
There were about forty people milling around, although there would have been forty-two if Matt's two imaginary friends had also come along (http://www.woebot.com). At least Matt's beneficence made Ade another twenty quid on what must have been a bit of a loss-shocker. Not that Ade was necessarily bothered by the turnout. After all, he took a gamble when he invited Fran
