I'm still recovering from last weekend, when I helped put on three parties, and next
weekend is almost here, so I don't think I'll make it to the Beauty and
the Beat gig this Saturday ⎯ especially as Enrica and I are off to see
the Fabulous Beast Dance Company earlier that evening. But if you want to keep up the

Things got going with the Queer Jubilee III festival in Rome on Friday. I jetted in at 9-p.m., talked about disco and the dance floor ⎯ on the dance floor ⎯ at 11:00-p.m. Once that was over and done with I made the eight foot journey to the DJ booth, where I span records from about 12:30-1:30-a.m. Never before can there have been such a seamless transition from the cultural theory of dance to actual dancing itself…

They didn't, even though I thought that someone somewhere would find some appeal in at least one of my selections, which included Latin rock (War) to African (Manu Dibando) to dub (Rhythm & Sound) to African techno (Ian Simmonds, Carl Craig) to house (Fran
