The Loft at the Light, Adam and Downtown Dance

The parties at the Light are in the groove, and the groove is smooth.
It's been that way since the spring and it feels like it will never
end. Let's hope it doesn't.
We had plenty of fantastic parties with David before the spring, but there was always a certain level of "hairiness" to the experience. We were never quite sure if we'd open on time, or who would show up, or how the sound would work out, or if the sound would work. Also the atmosphere on the floor seemed to shift quite radically around the spring of 2005 to such an extent that some of us were wondering if we really wanted to keep working so hard for a party where we no longer felt at home. But we managed to get back on track pretty soon after that party and although we lost a few punters in the process, the mood on the floor improved dramatically. By the winter the dance floor was once again a place of effervescent, spiralling energy. Our new sound system inexplicably broke down for a couple of hours, but the thought that there might be no party at all seemed to spur everyone on to having one of our best parties. The following spring party was even better ⎯ there were no problems with the sound!!! ⎯ and since then we've hit this quite gorgeous rhythm. Janette, a keen observer of the London scene since the 1960s, said the atmosphere at the June party was the best she'd ever witnessed in the city.
A calm, shimmering fluidity has now wrapped itself around the Journey Through the Light parties. After a bit of chopping and changing, the Lucky Cloud Sound System is running beautifully. Colleen, Jeremy and myself are taking care of the nasty stuff (how much money we owe the bank…). Simon and Guillaume plus Cedric, Adrian, Alex, Claude, Cyril and Fabien help us push the party, organise the d
