I published my first book, Love Saves the Day: A History of American Dance Music Culture, 1970-79 at the beginning of 2004. The first copies of the book were sold at David Mancuso's 34th anniversary Loft party in New York. My second book, Hold On to Your Dreams: Arthur Russell and the Downtown Music Scene, 1973-92, grew out of research for Love Saves the Day and was published in 2009. My third book, Life and Death on the New York Dance Floor, 1980-83, was published on 30 September 2016. Writing these books will be the death of me but I find the work completely and utterly absorbing.
